Challenge

In Aquanow’s monorepo, changes to one service can create hidden downstream failures. Large PRs and cross-language reviews further increase risk and slow development.

Solution

GoodLabs and Aquanow integrated Claude across the development lifecycle to:

• Validate dependencies: Identify downstream impacts before new services or changes ship.

• Review PRs: Analyze large, cross-component changes for critical defects, including across unfamiliar languages.

• Generate tests: Build comprehensive unit and integration test suites automatically.

Results (first four months in production)

• 9 breaking changes caught before rollout.

• 7 critical bugs found before QA, including one in cross-language code.

• Median PR review time on the Market Operations team fell from 16 hours to 1.1 hours.

• Unit tests on the core trading service grew from 21 to 520, with 499 of them generated with Claude, plus 16 generated end-to-end tests. Test code now outweighs source code, up from roughly a third of it.
